I grew up in the communities around Frankfort, Michigan, a small town nestled along the bluffs of the lower
peninsula and gracing the eastern shores of Lake Michigan.  After graduation from Frankfort High School in
1985, I spent my first year at a small private college in Grand Rapids, Michigan then moved to
Central
Michigan University and spent two years working on an English major.

After a six-year break, I returned to college at
Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota.  I graduated with
a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.  I finished my studies in 1995 and
obtained my diplomas in 1996 after my internship.

Ten years later I became (officially, that is) a writer!  I have always written stories and whatnot, but always
figured I'd end up teaching.  Not that I'm complaining!  Writing allows me to work from home and still spend
quality time with my children.

I now live in rural Southwest Wisconsin with my three beautiful daughters aged 18, 5 & 4 and my husband Fred
Miller (who's in the photo with me, above).  Our old farmhouse along the bluffs of the Mississippi River is full
of everything I love: pets, books and cozy places to read and relax. My oldest will be 'flying the coop' this
summer and at the same time, my youngest will be starting school! Wow! It makes me feel old :)

See the
Community Page for photos of the Mississippi River Valley near my home in Southwest Wisconsin.  I
am especially fond of this region because of its scenic similarities to the corner of Michigan that still feels like
Home to me.

NEW Photos added: On the community page, the Mississippi River backwaters that can only been seen close
up from the likes of my neighbor's pontoon boat! Thanks to Gene Harris for a lovely day!
