Mother's Voices
Mother's Voices is a full-length work of fiction that I have
been working on for nearly six years. This work is both
humorous and hair-raising, sobering and silly, with
mystery and madness at its core.

Taking place both in the bluff communities of Michigan's
lower peninsula and the Coulee region of Southwest
Wisconsin, this book draws loosely on places and people
from my life.  However, the story and incidents in no way
reflect the true nature of these people, places and my
experiences.  It is a work of fiction and should be
understood as such up front.

With the writing complete, I recently began the task of
searching for an agent. My goal is for it to be in print
before the end of the decade!

The book takes place in two time frames: the past and
the present, and is told primarily from the viewpoints of
two of the story's main characters: Samantha Brooke
and Joyce Sadler.

Samantha is Joyce's middle daughter whose childhood
angst has left her with a gaping distrust of her mother,
organized religion and the legal system.

Joyce, recently deceased under bizarre circumstances,
has left behind a trail of seemingly meaningless clues
for her three daughters.  They must make some sense of
the madness in order to reveal what will be the most
shocking moment in their family's tattered history.
